Why is it important?
Biodiversity is important to our ecosystem in many different ways. To start, many of nature's offerings help regulate the good and bad things that happen in our ecosystem. Many plants have extracts that are now vital to modern science and medicine. In detail, plant based medicines help more than 3 billion people take care of themselves. If we were to destroy these plants, who knows whether treatments for many different diseases will be effective.
Many other occupations also rely on biodiversity so that they can keep our country or even the world still functioning as it is. The agricultural industry, or where we get our food from, relies on biodiversity very heavily so that they can grow the crops that they need to make food. Without the agriculture, not much food would be made for us to eat, which could turn out to be pretty bad. Businesses also rely on biodiversity so that they can get all the raw materials, clean water, and essential supplies they need to operate and monitor their day-to-day jobs.

How do humans negatively affect the Biodiversity of the world?
Humans have a bad impact on the biodiversity of nature. Whether it be not taking care of a garden that is outside their home , or using pesticides (like insect killers, weed killers, etc.) to get rid of animals or insects that come into their vicinity, or area. As most students learn at school, there is lots of pollution in the air and also around us. This is one of the main causes of the negative impact on biodiversity, it just never stops because humans don't want to stop. Its not just the pesticides and pollution, it is also the trash that we waste, and don't put in the correct place. According to National Geographic, about eight million tons of plastic is dumped into the ocean every year. Do you think that this is good for underwater biodiversity? Hopefully your answer is no. All of the plastic and other things that are in our oceans pile up and soon make it hard for underwater sea creatures and plants to survive.
Pie Chart showing what the factors are for the cause of air pollution. As you can see, 52% of the air pollutants are from the industry field, which we were not shocked of.

How can we help maintain Biodiversity?
By maintaining the biodiversity of spiders, the world will be able to benefit greatly. To start, they kill the population of flies that are overpopulated and harm the society. By having spiders in ecosystems, they attract other predators to the ecosystem that want to eat it. These predators can also help the biodiversity of the spiders. A spiders web can also benefit the ecosystem by providing the essentials to many people for silk, which is used in many clothing options. Who knows, your outfit that you are wearing right now contains some silk. So the next time you see a spider or someone you know sees a spider, instead of running for the spider killing things, leave it alone. A spider won't harm you if you are staying away from it, instead it will appreciate your caution.
